In July 2015, Myanmar was devastated by its worst flood in 40 years, affecting over 90% of the country. Heavy rainfall and landslides displaced over 200,000 people, destroyed infrastructure, and caused severe damage to farmland and homes, with 47 confirmed deaths.

In response, Blue Sky Rescue (BSR) deployed 156 members, becoming the first international rescue team to arrive. Over the course of the mission, BSR provided critical medical aid to over 1,000 patients, supported evacuations and assistance for 56,000 people, and conducted disease prevention operations across 41.3 square kilometers. BSR also donated large quantity of essential supplies to assist in the relief efforts.

With the backing of Myanmar President U Thein Sein and strong cooperation with local authorities, BSR’s timely intervention left a lasting impact on the affected communities, exemplifying their commitment to humanitarian aid and disaster response.
